Thanks for Your input, Dan. The increase in Spam has been noticed. At the present time this Forum is 'Moderated' by all the Members of the Enigmail-Development Team. Speaking for Myself, I am alerted whenever any New Post or New Topic is added to the Forum and I promptly visit it and if I judge it to be Spam I Ban the Poster and delete all Posts from that individual.
I am sure You can appreciate that, as with any Freeware Project, all Members of the Development Team are unpaid volunteers and cannot devote the resources to remain logged in to the Forum 24/7 and therefore must deal with Spam postings in a reactive manner. I invite You to do the following; any time You come across a Post to this Forum that You deem to be Spam feel free to send Me an Email directly containing the URL to the suspected Post. [John W. Moore III (Enigmail Team) <jmoore3rd@mozilla-enigmail.org>] I shall promptly visit the Link and take whatever action is necessary.
IMO, many of these Posts arrive because some Member of the Forum has become infected with malware that then forwards the offending Message to all addresses within their Address/Contact List. <SIGH> Whenever I discover Spam seeming to originate from a Member who has always Posted relevant and pertinent information in the past I usually remove the Post in question and alert the Member privately.
