Unable to sign keys.

Postby Scott » 1st Mar 2008 01:05

Just returned from key signing party and discovered that I'm unable to sign the ID keys that have been imported into the key management drop-down menu. When using key signing option the key is above the dialogue box but not in the dialogue box and so unable to verify and sign. Also when receiving a encrypted message from key list a error message appears secret key required when in fact I have that key in key management. I'm using Linux Kubuntu 7.10, Thunderbird 2.0.0.12 and Enigmail 0.95.6.Any help would be greatly appreciated.
TIA Scott. :?

Is the key you are attempting to use to sign set to "Ultimate" trust?

Hi, John.
Thanks for your reply .It doesn't seem to matter whether it's set to ultimate, trusted or unknown trust.

Does your key have a passphrase set on it? I've heard you may experience problems signing keys if the signing key doesn't use a passphrase.
Mozilla Thunderbird 2.0, Enigmail 0.95.5, GnuPG 1.4.8-MobilityEmail
