Can you post the contents of your gpg.conf file, as well as whatever additional options you have told Enigmail to pass to GnuPG?

This problem should only ever occur with a misconfigured GnuPG. It is not an Enigmail error.

Hello rjh: execuse-me in advance i'm newbie on enigmail and gnupgp.
I raised the gpg --version command on my Windows Xp sp3, to retrieve the path of gpg.conf file. In the home, I don't have a file with this name...
I use gpg 1.4.9

I set the environment variabile PATH... in the original installation i don't have set.
But also now raise the error.

Edit
I can create a new file gpg.conf with this lines:
default-recipient-self
keyserver random.sks.keyserver.penguin.de
default-cert-check-level 3
keyserver-options auto-key-retrieve include-revoked include-subkeys
no-mangle-dos-filenames
no-secmem-warning

or it is wrong?

This problem raise because I set to On the option "use gpg-agent to passphrase" but I use the gpg 1.4.9 version.
It is possible that this option not is checkable when gpg not is release 2.x.?
Ciao.
